Show Over To Be Added To Rolls A new Civilian Conservation Corps enrollment program effective effective effective tive October 1 1935 is now in progress to replace men who have dropped out prior to that date and to Increase the strength of the corps above the total of the figure reached August 31 of this year as announced by Mr Robert Fechner Director of oC Emergency ency Conservation Work It is expected that over young men and veterans will be enrolled by the War Department in the C C C during October The reduction in the age limit for C C C enrollees mak makes it possible possible pos pas sible sible for physically fit youths of seventeen to participate in the tho Emergency Conservation Work provided they come from families now on public relief rolls Dr Fechner said that at least American youths of seventeen seventeen seventeen seven seven- teen are thus eligible for enroll enroll- ment A survey shows that juniors were selected for enrollment enroll enroll- enrollment ment during the June July and August expansion Seventy-five Seventy per cent of the number were one ty-one years old or under The War Department Records show that a total of enrollees of the Conservation Corps left the forest camps to accept outside employment during the three months ending August 31 1935 |
