Show Garage Notes Mr. A. C. McClurc of Trcmonton has purchased a 10-horsc-power Rco runabout from the Sharman Auto. Co. I Mr. II. J. Pecry of Ogden has bought a 4-cylinder Maxwell Tour ing car from L. H. Bccraft at Ogden. A. F. Savage and A. C. White of the White-Savage Auto. Co., are !, expected back from their eastern trip today. 1 R. W. Hill, F. W. Sharman and Sam Sharman again spent their week end fishing. They left last Saturday morning for Lost Creek in Mr. Sharman's hill-climbing Stoddard-Dayton, and returned Monday evening. Seymour B. Young, Jr., is back again from the mountains and is as usual hustling the sale of Franklins and Buicks. Husscy & Wood, the real estate firm at Ogdcn have now a Maxwell Max-well runabout to show prospective buyers of houses and lands around in. Frank Botterill reports that the automobile manufacturers in the I1 East arc all working hard on their 1908 models. They claim that not withstanding the financial panic, the 1908 season has been the best they have ever had, but from present indications next year will Bert Fuller is still in the hospital and Dr. II. N. Mayo says that he is not improving as quickly as he would like. A. C. Downing and wife, Geo. H. Lloyd and wife, and S. D. Reid and wife were amongst the visitors to Ogden Canyon last Sunday, Sun-day, the Studcbakcr "40" was their wagon. E. S. Yankee had a party out to Emigration Canyon last Sunday in his rent car, he reoorts the roads in fair condition and the scenery on the trip to be the best round the city. Mr. C. A. Quigley, general manager of the Studebaker Company, is back in town, much benefitted from his recent trip to the coast. Mr. W. S. Henderson has purchased a 4-cylinder, air-cooled, Franklin touring car from the local agents, the Consolidated Wagon & Machine. Company. The first purchaser of a Chalmers Detroit car in Salt Lake City is Mr. L. C. Miller. Jake Moritz of the Salt Lake Brewing Company has bought a Pierce Arrow 6-cylindcr 40-horse-pbwer car. i Messrs. L. A. Macey, F. C. Schramm and James Brown were all up at the Devil's Slide last Sunday, in their cars, there were fifteen altogether in the party. More and more is brass work on cars giving way to plainer metals. Gayly colored scarfs are becoming popular with fair motorists. A horse is used in a garage at Asbury Park, N. The Barcelona Royal Automobile Club has united with the Royal Automobile club of Madrid, to bring pressure to bear on the Spanish government to secure road improvements in Spain. The double transcontinental endurance contest from New York to San Francisco and return has been postponed to start July 4, 1909, to 1 enable additional cars to prepare for the trial. |
