Show Press Agent Promises Coming Attractions. Salt Lake Theatre. Salt Lake Opera Company in "The Girl and the Governor," September 7, 8, 9 and 10. Orpheum. Advanced vaudeville. Grand. Grand Stock Company. Salt Lake Theatre. Beginning at the matinee today the Salt Lake Opera Company will present the new comic opera, "The Girl and the Governor," at the Salt Lake Theatre. The dates will include the 5th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th, with matinees Saturday, Monday and Wednesday. The chorus has been in the hands of Prof. John J. McClcllan. The cast contains nearly all the old favorites and a few new ones. The list includes the following: Hazel Taylor, Agatha Berkhoel, Edna, Evans, John D. Spencer, George D. Pyper, Fred C. Graham, Hugh W. Dougall, George W. Pyper, Alex S. Campbell, Horace S. Ensign, John D. Owen, Claud Cornwall. With the prestige of having created the longest run ever made by any show in Chicago, in addition to ten weeks in Boston and sixty times in New York to crowded houses, "The Time, The Place and The Girl," which plays at the Salt Lake Theatre next Friday and Saturday, carries at least one other distinction. It is that this is a "comedy with music and a plot." The combining of a story that can be understood, with music of the whistly sort and wonderful dances by pretty girls have been the pivotal features of its enormous success. V i |
