Other Opinions: 2,684 "Average Joes" give "Cowboys "Cow-boys & Aliens" a rating of 6.9 out of 10 while 147 professional pro-fessional film critics give the film an average score of 44 percent out of 100 percent. Should you see it? It's hard to pass a concept like this by, but I suggest a weekend week-end at home with films like E.T. and True Grit instead. "Cowboys & Aliens" Casual Critic Score: 6.5 out of 10 Release Date: July 29, 2011 Rating: PG-13 Length: 1 18 minutes Genre: Action, Sci-Fi, Thriller When Jon Favreau, Steven Ste-ven Spielberg, Brian Grazer and Ron Howard get together to direct and produce a film starring Harrison Ford and Daniel Craig, you expect the end result to be awesome. But the problem with high expectations expec-tations is that too often they just leave you disappointed. Such is the case in this west meets space big-budget summer sum-mer movie. The actors all do their part just fine: Craig as a cool lone outlaw and Ford as the iron-fisted gruff cattle boss of the town, but unfortunately unfortu-nately they represent characters charac-ters in a film without much of a story. The deeper the plot gets, the more absurd it becomes. be-comes. Yet there's still plenty of fun to be had along the way and the overall film is a satisfying sat-isfying entertainment experience. experi-ence. I just wish "Cowboys & Aliens" wouldn't have taken itself so seriously. Content: Rated PG-13 for violence and gore. Although ' ,. J 1 ' " t ,v ,; . ... ! 1 v''-7 , ... . ( - : ', . .
