Show Moab Radio Personnel At Convention Utah broadcasters were urged Saturday to use their media to aid the community commun-ity and help solve the nation's na-tion's problems. Rex Lee of the FCC and Theodore Vernier, who is the chief of the Drug AbuJe Division of the U. S. Department De-partment of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs, were the guest speakers at the annual convention of the Utah Broadcasters Association, held in Salt Lake City Friday Fri-day and Saturday. Lee told the radio and television delegates: "Ye.ii have a responsibility to provide pro-vide a forum for discussion of public issues . . . not only at the local level, but nationally nat-ionally and internationally." Vernier asked for help in controlling the drug abuse probiem among the young . people. lie said, "The drug problem is more than just law enforcement, and the- ' solution is certainly more than just law enforcement . We must involve ourselves in the entire community." Representatives of , the broadcast industry were asked ask-ed to discourage any attempts at-tempts to glamorize the us.; of drugs.
