K : x ; ? : X - S X-- Mayor Winfcrd Bunce Mayor Bunce Will Seek Re-Election Moab Mayor Winford Bunce Wednesday announced that he definitely would seek another an-other four year term as Mayer of the community. , In making the announcement, announce-ment, Bunce slated: ; "I am formally announcing announc-ing my intentic. to seek another term as Mayor of Moab. I have enjoyed working work-ing with the citizens of Moab Mo-ab and the City Council during dur-ing the past four years. 1 expect to run on a record . cf accomplishments and fair treatment for all citizens. I plan on seeking the nomination nomina-tion for Mayor on the Citizens Citi-zens Party ticket. . During the campaign I expect to discuss dis-cuss the past record and accomplishments, ac-complishments, and probab: ly outline new programs for the next four years. I sincerely sin-cerely solicit your support." Mayor Bunce was elected to the post he now holds four years ago, and promptly prompt-ly sought City Cuncil support sup-port to change the form of city government to provide for a full-time Mayor, rather ra-ther than a part-time Mayor assisted by an administrative administra-tive assistant. The new form of city management went into effect shortly after he took office, and is in effect today. Prior to being elected Mayor, Ma-yor, Bunce had served for many years as a member of the Grand County Commission, Com-mission, and also served several se-veral terms as a member of the Utah House of Representatives, Represen-tatives, representing Grand County. He has formerly owned and operated several retail establishments in the community; com-munity; served for many years as secretary of Moab Irrigation Company, and for yciars has been clerk of the Selective Service Board in Grand County. The Citizens Party has called a convention for Fit-day Fit-day night, Oct. 10, at 8 p.m. in the Grand County Courtroom. Court-room. Mayor Bunce, according accord-ing to his announcement, will seek nomination at that convention. |
