Show Budget Change Adopted by School Bonrd The Grand County Board of Education adopted amended am-ended budgets for the 1968-6:9 and the 1969-70 school years at; a special meeting held Monday evening. Reason for amending the budgets, according to Superintendent Super-intendent C. Robert Sund-wall, Sund-wall, was to take care of revenues re-venues which were higher than expected for last year and also increased expenditures expendi-tures oceuring primarily in the instruction category. . The higher revenue occurred occur-red primarily from federal monies received through Public Pub-lic Law 874 and funds from lax sources above the amount am-ount estimated. The additional addition-al budget expenditures above the budget 'estimate occurred because of increased staff employment and inadvertent inadvert-ent deletion of salaries paid to Title I ESEA. Other expenditures ex-penditures occurred through increased fixed charges and maintenance costs. The act ditjonal revenues were considerably con-siderably higher than expenditures. expen-ditures. Amending the current year . budget included adding revenues rev-enues not anticipated when the budget was first accepted accept-ed in June and also to reduce re-duce anticipated revenues and expenditures because cf a lower enrollment than was expected. The changes resulted re-sulted in lowering the budget figure by $13,350. Current enrollment is approximately 100 less than was expected, Mr. Sundwall stated. |
