Show Passport Hearings Set By U. S. Senate Sen. Frank E. Moss, D-Utah, D-Utah, this week announced through Jiis Washington office that hearings have been scheduled sch-eduled for July 17 on a hill he is co-sponsoring to extend the Golden Eagle Passport. The present Passport, costing cost-ing $7.53 a year will expire on March 31, 1970. It provides provid-es admittance to all Federal recreational areas, including national parks and monuments. monu-ments. Without it, people visiting these areas will have to pay individual admittance fees to each of them. Senator Moss joined with Senators Henry M. Jackson of Washington and Frank Church of Idaho in introducing introduc-ing the bill. "The passport idea has more than proved itself in tlj past five years." Sen. Moss said, "and its popularity popular-ity is substantial. It should be continued." Fees from sale of the passports pass-ports go into the Land and Water Conservation Fund, and from that fund, matching match-ing monies for local and state recreational proj.-cts is made available, along with federally constructed recreation recrea-tion projects. |
