Show Accidents Investigated By Highway Pcitrol Three accidents which occurred oc-curred on Saturday, required requir-ed attention by Utah High-Way High-Way Patrol Trooper Bruce Black. At 11 a.m., one mile south of Moab near the K. E. Mc-Dougald Mc-Dougald bulk plant, Robert Randall of Moab, who was driving a 1965 Ford pickup, 'Struck and killed a horse belonging to Calvin Hansen of Moab. The horse was one of two that ran suddenly in front of the Randall truck. Trooper Troop-er Black stated that the horses were running and were probably being chased and that Mr. Hansen had been by the area an hour earlier and the animals were locked in their pasture. It was supposed that some children in the area had released re-leased the horses. There were no injuries although $1500 damage was done to the pickup and the horse, valued at $250, was killed. No citations were issued. is-sued. ' Later on Saturday, at Crescent Junction snow had been falling for about two hours and about one inch had accumulated on the road when Murry Tripp, 70 and his wife Hazel, 62, of Fruita, Colorado, attempted to turn from highway 6-50 to US 160. Their 1965 pickup and camper skidded out of control and tipped onto its side causing about $1000 Idamage. No injuries were 'sustained by the pair and no citations were issued. The final accident of that 'day happened at 6:20 p. m. when Barbara Carey, who lives at the El Paso Natural Natur-al Gas Pumping Station 'south of Moab had stopped 'at the Rev. Russell's house 'in Sinda Heights. As she got out of the 1965 Dodge Carryall, she noticed that it 'was rolling back down the hill. She -was unabe to. stop 'it and it rolled across the 'highway and into a building 'owned by Continental Oil Company. About $300 worth 'of damage was done to the Dodge with about $1000 dam-'age dam-'age to ; the building. Mrs. Carey was cited for failure to secure her vehicle. |
