Show First Baby of 1973 to be Showered with Gifts The first baby to be born in Grand County in 1973 will have a variety of gifts awaiting him (or her) as merchants again prepare to greet the first arrival of the new year. To be a winner in the contest, parents must qualify as excellent family fam-ily planners, or be just plain lucky. Parents of babies born just after the beginning of the new year who feel they might be early enough to garner gar-ner the list of prizes must bring a statement from the attending doctor doc-tor to The Times -Independent (if we don't find out first) giving the exact ex-act time, day and place of their baby's birth, including in-cluding sex, weight, the child's name and address of the parents. The baby must be born after midnight mid-night on Dec. 31, 1972. Gifts for the baby include in-clude a variety of goods and services, some practical and some frivolous. friv-olous. There will be ev erything from baby food to lingerie, and of course cigars for the proud father. fa-ther.
