Show Initial Enrollment Here Down; More Expected Although registration had been lighter than expected, Superintendent C. Robert Sundwall said Wednesday that there should be between three and four hundred more students by the time school starts nert week. The highest high-est membership for the year is usually during the first month of school, according to school district officials. As of Wednesday, the high school had registered 391 students compared to 365 at : the end of the last year. The . junior high had 412 compar- ed wih 475 last year; Southeast South-east EElementary had 611, as compared to 710 for last spring; and Helen M. Knight had 525, compared with an . earlier number of - 635. . There-.were 88 seniors who graduated with the class of 1969 and about 100 new students stu-dents were added from ' the Junior High,, for the slight increase in High School. Bus Schedule The School District Office announced the schedule for the buses which will begin with the first day of school on Sept. 2. Thompson Bus The Thompson bus will leave Thompson at 7:20 a.m. and will stop " at Crescent Junction at 7:30; the Airport at 7:45; Arches at 8:0; Mc-Clatchey's Mc-Clatchey's at 8:05; Fort Moab, Byrds Ranch and the Phillips 66 Station at 8:10. This bus will arrive at the Senior High at 8:15, the Junior Ju-nior High at 8:20, and the HMK School at 8:25. It wll. leave the Senior High at 3:45; Junior High at 3:55 and . HMK School at 4:00 p.m. Castle Valley Bus From Castle Valley the - bus will leave at 7:20 a.m. and will make stops at Lam-merts Lam-merts . Ranch, Shumways, McCormicks, and Whites ranches ran-ches if necessary. It will arrive ar-rive at the High School at 8:15 and will also go to the Junior High and Southeast. This bus will leave the Senior Sen-ior High at 3:45, Southeast at 3:50 and the Junior High at 3:55. Secondary Bus No. S The secondary school bus route 1 will pick up students at Spanish Valley farms at 7:40 and will make subsequent subse-quent stops at Sunny Acres, Somerville Farms, Beeman home, White well, Krist home, paved crossroad, Old City Park turn off, Shumways Shum-ways home, Duane Wimmer home, Earl Martin home, . . Max Daley home, Lou's Auto-Marine. It will arrive at the Junior High at 8:05 a.m. Bus Route No. 1 will pick up students at the Junior High at 2:35 p.m. and will be back at the Junior High at 3:30 for a second load. It will then pick up Senior High students at 3:45. Bus Route 1 ior tne South- . east Elementary will stop near Phillips 66 at 8:15 a.m. and will continue to Ned's . Bus Route No. 2 Bus Route 2 to the secondary secon-dary schools will stop at the junction of the Old City Park road at 7:40 a.m. with subsequent sub-sequent stops . at Harrisons, Pack Creek crossing, Ke-oghs, Ke-oghs, punction of the Golf Course road, Winders corner, Oliver Wheel Estate, Otho Murphy estate, East end of Holyoak Lane, West end of Holyoak Lane, Bowling Alley, Al-ley, and Bittle Lane. It will go first to the high school and then to Junior High. The afternoon run will depart de-part the High School at 2:50 p.m. Bus Route 2 to the elementary elemen-tary schools will first stop at Harrisons at 8:20, with subsequent stops at Pack Creek crossing, Keoghs, at the Golf,. In the afternoon the bus will leave Southeast School at 3:35 p.m. Bus route No. 3 will go to Southeast Elementary from the LaSal route and make its first stop at the Grand Vu Theater with other stops at East end of Ilolyoak Lane, Center' of Holyoak Lane, at the West end of Holyoak Lane, the Bowling Alley, and Bittle Lane. It will leave Southeast at 2:30 p.m. Bus Route 4 Bus Route 4 will run to Souheast and will stop at the paved cross road between U.S. 160 and the LaSal route, with following slops at All-reds. All-reds. Old City Park road, Purcells, Beemans, Wimm-ers, Wimm-ers, Martins, Swinks, Lou's Auto-Marine and Ilenning-sons. The second run of this bus will pick up children at Aspen As-pen Ave. at 8:40 and deliver them to HMK school. The bus will leave at 2:30 in the afternoon. The Thompson bus to Moun-tainview Moun-tainview run will pick up students stu-dents on Aspen Ave. at about ab-out 8:40 and deliver them to HMK. In the afternoon, the bus will leave HMK school at 2:30 and take them to Mountainview: The bus ' will also pick up a load of stu dents at 3:30 for delivery to Mountainview. .xk.l Classes Begin The classes at the High School will begin at 8:20 a.m. and lunch will be served from 12 until 1 p.m. High Schc-o! students may eat at Southeast Elementary for 30 cents per meal and buses will bo provided. Students will be excused at 3:40 p.m. The Junior High school will begin its classes at 8:20 a.m. and will' have' lunch from 11:57 until 12:50 each day |
