Show Dance Studio Schedules Revue In Moab and Monticello Kits Dance Studio will present it's annual Dance. Revue in both Monticello and Moab this coming week. Saturday, May 22 both danoing groups will perform for Monticello at the High School at 7:30 and Monday, May 24 at the II. M. Knight Elementary School both groups will again perform at 7 :30. The Sound of Music, a musical by Rogers and Hammerstein, is the colorful color-ful story of an auetrian family who braves the Nazi seige and escapes to America to carry on their livelihood through singing and dancing. The Trapp story is a true story. Maria Mar-ia is played by Sheryl Miller, Mil-ler, who sings and dances to lovely tunes like "The Sound of Music, Do Re Mi, My Favorite Things." Lies! the oldest daughter is danced by Lesa Shields who flirts with Rolf, Danna Bittle, in the tune "You are Sixteen, Going on Seventeen." Sev-enteen." The Captain, who sees Maria and the best housekeeper and governess govern-ess that his motherless children have ever had, and wants to make her his wife, is Valerie Mays. Three Nuns, who give up trying to convert Marie to life in the abbey are Kathy Balsley as Mother Superior and Joyce Stewart Stew-art and Sena Taylor as Sister Josephone and Sis. ter Ann. Lotus Nelson takes tak-es the part of the jealous Barouess who sees the Captain Cap-tain as marriage bait. The seven Von Trapp children who sprint and sing their way through to the program pro-gram are Liesl, Lesa, Shields; Frederich, Wendy Walker; Louisa, Michelle Carter; Kurt, Lori Hewitt; Brigitta Mernie Beth Stewart, Stew-art, Marta, Rosie Mashaw and little Gretl, who kaep-s Jin step with the others, Sharon Raymond. The first part of the Dance Revue will be variety, varie-ty, which includes Tap, Ballet, Jazz and Hawaiian dances. Featured each year will be original dances dan-ces choreographed by students. stu-dents. A Hello Dolly number num-ber by Lotus Nelson will be exciting original dance, as well as a ballot by Loci Hewitt, a ballet by Cheryl Miller, a jazz by Valerie Mays and several other dances with original choreography chor-eography 'by students. Students or adults are $1, and will be sold at the door. Children with parents par-ents will be admitted free. |
