Show r mi "iil. -Li i Mr :a -. v Gov. Rampton . Services Held Wednesday for Bud Johnston Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon for Ivan R.' "Bud" Johnston, 60, a resident of Grand County for 51 years. He passed away Monday, March 13, at Allen Memorial Hospital following a lingering illness. Mr. Johnston was born August 7, 1911 at Liberty, Kansas, to Joi:n Alonzo and Stella Ryan Johnston. They moved to Utah in 1921 and he attended schools at Danish Flat and Cisco. He married June W. Row-ell Row-ell on July 3, 1934. They were later divorced. He then moved to Castle Valley in 1938, where he was a rancher ranch-er for many years. For the past 12 years he was employed em-ployed at the Atlas Minerals mill in the scale house. He married Bonnita C. Moss on Nov. 17, 1952. She survives. sur-vives. Two sons, Joe A. of Grand Junction, Colo.; and Richard L. of Moab and a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Joy) Mason of Moab also survive. sur-vive. Other survivors include two brothers, Wayne E. Johnston John-ston of Price and Herbert E. Johnston of Fruita, Colo.; two sisters, Mrs. Eula Hale and Mrs. Ralph (Wilda) Hale, both of Scottsbluff, Nebraska and a cousin, Alva W. Johnston John-ston of Castle Valley. He is survived by 8 grandchildren. Services were held at 1 p.m. at the Community Baptist Church with Rev. John F. Watson conducting. Pallbearers Pallbear-ers were Dan Winbourn, J. Wesley Oliver, Haskell Bowman, Bow-man, Ed Kerby and Lester Taylor. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Fletcher Kerby, Kent Turner, Pat Posey, Po-sey, Ray Scovil, Charles Gar-lett, Gar-lett, Tony Melo, and Glennie Holyoak. Burial was in the Castleton ,Cemetery under the direction of Turner Funeral Fun-eral Home. |
