Show Commiffee Optimistic After Hollywood Visit Representatives of the Moab Movie Committee returned re-turned from Hollywood last week and reported that they had made successful contacts con-tacts which may result in film production locally in the near future. Committee members Btiit . Lincoln and George White spent a full week in Hollywood Holly-wood making contacts with, film studios. Lincoln stated that he felt this was the most successful of all previous pre-vious trips made by the Moab Mo-ab group to California. Lincoln and White interviewed inter-viewed some 30 studios during dur-ing the week they were there and left copies of the new Moab Movie Brochure. Hollywood officials said that the layout and design of the brochure was excellent and' that it wuold be effective location material to their production and location people. peo-ple. Of the 30 film studios contacted con-tacted nine assured the committee members that they would make personal visits to our location this summer or before to investigate investi-gate the possibilities. The nine firms thought most likely prospects for Moab interests are as follows: fol-lows: Universal Studios has four western productions planned for this year, one scheduled for summer entitled, "The iGid," which would require a vintage train. The requirement re-quirement of a train in the production of films is a feature fea-ture that Moab can now meet due to a recent agreement agree-ment wth a Denver firm. Aubrey Schenck Produc-toins Produc-toins has a production slat- . ed for a July shooting arid plan to visit Moab the first of May to investigate the : possibilities. Warner Bros.. Productons has two westerns: in the planning stages. NBC Productions at the Paramount Para-mount Studios is planning to call Moab within 30 days lo arrange a location trip impossible im-possible filming of the "High Chaparral" series. Walt Disney Productions has a western planned for this year but the firm hasn't scheduled the place or time of shooting as yet. 20th-century Fox, A. C. Lyles Productions Pro-ductions and CBS Studio Center each have several westerns planned for this year. Reed Productions has a western in the early planning plan-ning stages.
