A seven year old boy and an elderly woman were accidentally acciden-tally drowned Tues. at Lake Powell.'The victims have been identified as Edna Jackson, 71, of Chino, California, and Kevin Hunter, 7, of Colorado Springs. The boy is believed to be the lady's grandson. There was no witnesses to the accident which occurred near Halls Crossing. The bodies were found afloat in the lake about three o'clock. Bret Shumway, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Shumway of Blanding, was bitten by a rattlesnake during an outing at Halls Crossing last weekend. week-end. First aid was administered administer-ed by a local ranger and then he was taken across the lake where Green River Clinic doctors hold a weekend clinic, but no anti-venon was available avail-able and so he was driven by car to Monticello where he was treated and hospitalized for several days. Energy Fuels Nuclear, Inc. has completed construction of its Blanding crushing and sample plant and is now processing ore. The plant came in line May 9 and was expected to reach full capacity at 150 TPH by June 1. Energy Fuels is presently processing ore that has been stockpiled at their ore buying station seven miles south of Blanding. Energy Fuels also has a similar plant 10 miles south of Hanksviile. Energy Fuels is presently receiving ore from 19 independent inde-pendent owners and lease operators. They expect this number to increase to sixty by the end of 1977. They also plan to begin production from several company run mines in the near future. Carl Broadhead. Air Quality Qual-ity Specialist, Utah Dept. of Social Services, was in Hanksviile Hanks-viile last week-to look over possibilities for setting up a monitoring station in connection connec-tion with the proposed IPP Power Plant. Barbara Ekker will monitor this site. A bridal shower will honor Dona Albrecht Monday at the home of her sister-in-law, Mrs. Brenda Sellers. Dona will become the bride of Lance Garver on the 25th. She is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. La Naie Albrecht and Lance is the son of Bud Garver Gar-ver of Cainsville and Mrs. Donna Tomason of California. Mr. and Mrs. Jess Ekker have been invited to serve on a special Member Action Advisory Ad-visory Committee for Gar-Kane Gar-Kane Power Co. Already the Ekkers report outages to the Power Co. based in Richfield with repairman in Bicknell. Mrs. Ekker is a former meter reader. Elder Stanton Jackson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Perry Jackson, Jack-son, has been called to serve an LDS mission in Argentina Cardoba Mission. He will leave June 30 for the Language Langu-age Training Mission. He will be honord at a testimonial June 19 in Fremont which is now his home. He's a graduate of Wayne High School. He and his parents were former residents resi-dents of Cainsville and he's a member of the Hanksviile Ward. The Young Americans, Singing and Dance Group from CEU enjoyed a weekend at Lake Powell with their advisors, Mr. and Mrs. James Deaton. They boated, skiied, and sunburned their bodies but enjoyed the vacation for the books. Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Garver, of Del Mar, California, are visiting their son, Bud, and wife, Peggy, and will attend their grandson. Lance's, wedding wed-ding this week. Mr. and Mrs. Daniel C. Keller, Price, are announcing the engagement and forthcoming forth-coming marriage of their daughter, Karen, to Gregory Hunt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kay Hunt, Hanksviile. They will be united in marriage at the Manti Temple on June 17 with a reception that evening at the 4th Ward Chapel in Price. An open house will honor the newlyweds on the 18th in Hanksviile at the Hanksviile Ward Reception Hall. They will make their home here where Gregory is employed with Energy Fuels. Mr. and Mrs. Craig Snow and daughter are visiting her twin sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Rasmussen and children from their home in Salt Lake.
