Show Literary Club, Junior Section, Elects New Officers in Moab The home of Mrs. Clarence Clar-ence Sigman was the setting of the first meeting of the Woman's Literary Club Junior Ju-nior Section. Elections were held and Mrs. Duane Wilson was elected. el-ected. President; Mrs. Clarence Clar-ence Sigman, vice president; presi-dent; Mrs. Marvin Jensen, recording secretary; Mrs. Jim Nelson, corresponding secretary; and Mrs. Rodney Phillips, treasurer. Members attending the first meeting were Mrs. Clarence Sigman, Mrs. Dahl Zohner, Mrs. Rodney Phillips, Phil-lips, Mrs. Stanley Sides, Mrs. Billy Hass, and Mrs. Kenneth Ken-neth Shultz. The Woman's Literary Club Junior Section is being organized or-ganized for the younger women wo-men of Moab and is sponsored spon-sored by the Woman's Literary Lit-erary Club which is affiliated affiliat-ed with the General Federation Feder-ation of Woman's Clubs. Meetings of the Junior Section will be held with the Senior Woman's Literary Club twice a month on tha first Monday and third Sac- urday of the month. The Junior Ju-nior Section will have their own meetings on the first Thursday of the month. Plans are being made for many worthwhile projects during the year which will make the club a very rewarding re-warding organization to belong be-long to, according to the new officers. Both sections of the club met on Dec. 8 at the Moab National Bank board room for a business meeting followed fol-lowed by a film on drug abuse presented by Dee Tranter and Vern Bailey of the Jaycees. Some examples of different drugs, and drug parapharnalia along with explanations ex-planations of them were given gi-ven by Sheriff W. H. Bowman Bow-man and Sgt. Ralph Benson and Trooper Mel Schiffman of the Utah Highway Patrol. |
