Show Public Meeting on BLM Land In Worth Grand Here Aflar. 13 Tin Hureau of l.aiui MaiutMiunt is hoUlinn a public mooting March 13, to discuss inanaK'cnuMit alternatives for national resource lands in the northern portion of Crand County. The meeting ill boin at 7:00 p.m. in the Moab City Council chambers, cham-bers, according to lU.M's Monticello District Manager, Man-ager, Frank C. Shields. Known as the Hook Mountain Planning Unit, the area is bounded on the south by 1-70 fromCreen River east to Cisco Wash and by the Colorado River from Cisco Wash to the Vtah-Colorado state line; on the east by the state line; on the north by Uintah Uin-tah and Ouray Indian Reservation Re-servation and the summit of the Book Cliffs; and on the west by the Green River. The BLM desires comment com-ment from the public on such issues as the possibility pos-sibility of disposal of isolated iso-lated tracts, a state exchange ex-change application, river management programs, off-road vehicle designations designa-tions or closures, means to improve and enhance wildlife habitat, livestock grazing, and preservation preserva-tion of watershed and timber values. In addition, addi-tion, a mineral leasing program will be identified. identi-fied. Anyone interested in making suggestions for management of national resource land within this unit is invited to obtain a brochure containing BLM management recommendations recommen-dations at either the Monticello Mon-ticello District Office or the Grand Resource Area Office in Moab. Comments may either be made at the meeting scheduled on March 13, or may be submitted in writing or orally to the offices identified above. |
