Show Thompson News By Virginia Graver Norville Woiverton went to Denver to enter the Veterans Hospital there. Betty Jeffries drove her father fa-ther to Grand Junction on business and on to Montrose to see his i doctor last week. To the people of Moab: I thought Moab was an up-coming town looking for business. Is it now Moab County or Grand County? The reason I ask is Moab advertises all kinds of things to bring money mo-ney into Moab and the biggest deal of all is thrown down the drain dollars and dollars going to be turned away. Why? I'll tell you why. In place of Moab fighting with us to get a road over the Book Cliffs from Thompson so Moab then could benefit from it, the Commissioners insist on Hay Canyon and turn all the money into Fruita and Grand Junction. Don't you figure this money is good enough for Grand County? People, get busy and help us get the road up Thompson or Sego Canyon. I can't understand putting our men and equipment to work on a project like that. Spend all that money and throw it away from us! Mr. and Mrs. Ted Miller left on the train for Denver to visit her mother Frida. |
