Show A Letter from Pearl, lona and Barbara... engaged Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Hunt announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter Donnamay to Brian Brockbank, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dean L. Brockbank of Price; The young couple will be married November 1 1 at the Manti Temple. A reception is planned for November 12 at the Green River Ward Cultural Hall, with an open house on Nov. 13 at the Institute of Religion in Price. Miss Hunt was graduated from Green River High school and attended Trade Tech in I'rovo. Mr. Brockbank is employed in Price and the young couple will make their home in that city. PLANNING AND ZONING The local Planning and Zoning Board met at the Senior Citizens Hall on Monday Mon-day afternoon with Mrs. Pearl Baker presiding. A guest of the group was Ms. Geneva Powell, Rock Springs, Wyoming, Wyo-ming, who spoke on various problems of planning and zoning. Local guests were Mayor Hatt, Wendel Weber and Mrs. Tane Williams. The group is overhauling the zoning laws proposed in a study in 1973, but which were never adopted. Considerable progress was made on the project, which will take a couple of more meetings to finish. Keith Burnett of SUDAG in Price, offered some suggestions, and brought down copies of the subdivision ordinances, which will be studied later and added to the zoning and planning ordinances. ordinan-ces. The next meeting will be held at the City Hall on November 15 at 5:00 in the afternoon. BICENTENNIAL BOOKMOBILE The Bicentennial Bookmobile Bookmob-ile of the Utah State Library will be in Green River on the 10th. It will be parked at the school from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and will be at the Library in the evening from 5:00 to 9:00. Every citizen should visit this display of historical documents and other interesting interest-ing mementos of the early days of the nation. JANET SILLIMAN WED Janet Maxine Silliman and Gordon Edgerly Moreshead were married Saturday at the Mount Olympus Presbyterian Church. A reception was given after the ceremony in the church fellowship hall. The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Neal Silliman, Green River, was graduated from Utah State University with a degree in education. The bridegroom, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Ashton Moreshead, Fayetteville, Ga., was graduated from the University of Florida, Gainesville, Gaines-ville, in engineering. HALLOWEEN PARTY Members of Beta Zeta Chapter of ESA recently held a Halloween Party. Jolene Wright was the hostess for the evening and Mary Lou Richardson Rich-ardson was co-hostess. They planned some fun games for the group which included a scavenger hunt. There were many cute costumes and lots of fun for all. Guests for the evening included: Jan Duncan, Dun-can, Helen Beach, and Tamra Walker. SCHOOL NEWS Ballet West will present a " program at the school gym at 9:15 a.m. on Nov. 15. The public is invited, and there is no charge. The Green River School Band, under the direction of Mr. Salter, will present a Patriotic Concert in the gym at 2 p.m. on Nov. 12. Both Wrestling and Boys Basketball workouts started this week. Mr. Bill Bacon is the Wrestling coach, and the first meet is scheduled at Monticelloon Nov. 18 with Jr. Varsity action beginning at 6:00 and Varsity at 7:30. The Basketball team will see their first action against Gunnison on the Pirate floor on Nov. 19, with game times also being 6 and 7:30. Mr. Art Hughes is head coach. The Girls" Volleyball team traveled to East Carbon on Thursday last week, and remain undefeated in league play. The Jr. Varsity look their competition in two out of three games, and the Varsity won in straight sets 20-4. 20-4. This Thursday. Nov. 4. they travel to Altamont for their first confrontation with the Long-horns. Long-horns. Game time is 7 p.m. Green River Secondary School "Back-to-School Night" is set for Tuesday, Nov. 10 in the High School gym.
