Show CnrI W. Buehner Will Oppose Rampton for Governorship Prominent Salt Lake business busi-ness executive. Carl W. Buehner, Bueh-ner, this week announced that he will seek the Republican nomination for Governor of the State of Utah. Mr. Buehner resides at 1564 Cherokee Circle in Salt Lake City. In his announcement, he said, "As a business man, it is obvious to me. as it is to many people, that a new direction dir-ection is necessary in the administration ad-ministration of this State or we will be faced with an economic ec-onomic crisis that will further' take from the pocketbooks of every taxpayer in the State. Important economic indicators point towards a coming crisis in Utah in State finances, unemployment, un-employment, per capita income, in-come, bankruptcy, and outflow out-flow of educated and talented youth. A change of direction and emphasis is necessary to avoid this crisis and for this reason I have decided to seek the Republican nomination for the office of Governor of the State of Utah. Mr. Buehner is best known throughout Utah for his activity ac-tivity in business, work with young people, and in his civic and church affairs. He entered business in the Salt Lake area with the Buehner Block Company and as a building contractor. He is currently the president and a Director of , the Beehive State Bank; A; .'A Carl W. Buehner President of the Buehner Block Co., Secretary and Treasurer of the Otto Buehner Co.; Vice President and Director of the Brookfield Products Co.; Vice President and Director of the Beehive Machinery Co.; the Chairman of the Board and Director of the Mineral Fertilizer Fer-tilizer Company of Olympia, Wash.; officer and Director of Beehive Poultry; and President Pres-ident of. the Beacon Metals Corporation. In his activity with the youth of Utah, Mr. Buehner for the past five years, has served as the President of the Great Salt Lake Council of the Boy Scouts of America. For six years he was a member mem-ber of the General Superin-tendency Superin-tendency of the Mutual Improvement Im-provement Association of the LDS Church. His other Church activities include a member of the presiding pre-siding Bishopric for ten years and his current assignment as the Cottonwood Rsgional Representative of the Council of 12 Aposlles of the LDS Church. Mr. Buehner was just recently rec-ently named to the Hall of Fame of Granite high school. . He and his wife, ; Lucille, have three living children: Carl Buehner, Salt Lake City; Ci-ty; Mrs. Marilyn Riches of Murray; and Mrs. Ruth Mc-Fee, Mc-Fee, of Washington, D.C. |
