Nuclear Industry magazine maga-zine this month quoted Rep. Melvin Price, of the Joint Committee on Atomic Atom-ic Energy, as describing the original N7.1 standard of lOoO as the result of the work of "very capable, far-sighted men." He believes be-lieves it has done much to help our mining states show steady improvement over the years in reducing reduc-ing radon levels in mines. Rep. Price added he believed be-lieved the most significant and immediate contribution contribu-tion to proper implementation implemen-tation and enforcement of the new standard will be. the recommended guidelines guide-lines nnd operating techniques tech-niques which the N7.1 Subcommittee is preparing. |
