Show Moab Documentary Film Shswlsiq Set Thursday "Town on a Powder Keg", the long awaited documentary documen-tary film on Moab, will be shown at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Thurs-day, March 2, over the educational ed-ucational TV Channel 3, KUED. The film was compiled by Dan Keeler, Specialist in Educational TV for the U-tah U-tah State Department of Education, Ed-ucation, after much research re-search over the past several sev-eral years. "Town on a Powder' Keg" traces Moab's boom eras from the beginning of its history and relates, directly direct-ly or indirectly, each of the economic upsurges to a geologic pecularity of the land! an ancient deposit of Salt. Success Outlined The industries contributing contribut-ing to Moab's success as outlined out-lined in the film include fruit growing, cattle ranching, ranch-ing, oil, potash, uranium, and tourism. Local residents featured in the film include Howard Balsley, Glen Carlson, Mrs. Bert Dalton, Mrs. Betty Jacobs, Ja-cobs, Howard Lance, Manly Lincoln, Larry Norman, Jr., J. G. Pinkerton. Ed Pro-vonsha, Pro-vonsha, Mrs. Helen Knight, James M. Ruby, John Shaffer, Shaf-fer, Mrs. John Skewes, Samuel Taylor, Mrs. Lewis Titus, Mrs. Emma Walker, Mrs. Madge Cunningham. Roy Holyoak, Frank Peterson, Peter-son, Barton Larson, Mrs. a Nora McKonkie, Mrs. Dale Parriott, and Bates Wilson. "Town on a Powder Keg" will be re-run on KUED on March 16th and a copy of the film will be presented to the Moab Museum for future showings and reference. |
