Show Rose Tea Held Mere Recently By Local Club A beautifully appointed tea table greeted members and guests at the recent "Rose Tea" of the Woman's Literary Club. After a social soc-ial hour, Mrs. J. W. Corbin installed the newly elected officers for the 1967-68 club year in their respective office of-fice and each was presented a beautiful red rose bud. Hostesses for this meeting; were the present club officers. offi-cers. Miss Bettina Simon-Weid-ner of Esslingen, Germany was special guest at this -afternoon meeting. Through Rotary International, Miss Simon-Weidner began a full year's study as an exchange student in the United States. She resides in Moab with the Fred Stoye family while their son, Jim, is an ex- change student guest of Be'ttina's family in Germany. Germ-any. During a question and answer program, Miss Simon-Weidner told the group Germany does not have motels, mo-tels, drive-in restaurants or movies and they have very few bowlig alleys. As the country is quite heavily populated she was very impressed im-pressed with so much wide open country and was also impressed with our beautiful beauti-ful sunsets and sunrises. |
