Show Local Happenings Misi Marillyn Wells Plans June Wedding The engagement and approaching approach-ing marriage of Miss Marillyn WelLs to Vic Stuckonschneider was announced this week by the bride-elect's father, George K. Wells of Bingham. Mr. Stucken-schneider Stucken-schneider is a son of Mrs. Clara Stuckenschneider of Kocltztown, Missouri. An early June wadding is planned by the couple. Miss Orlean Warner and William G. Nevers Wed In Home Rites In quiet home i ites solemnized solemniz-ed Friday, May 11, lovely .Miss Orlean Warner, a daughter of Bishop and Mrs. John F. Warner Warn-er Jr. of Spanish Fork became the bride of William G. Nevers, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Nick G. Nevers of Copperton. The double-ring rites were performed by thf bride's father, Risr-np Warner at 1158 East 7th South, Salt Lake City. A lovely reception followed the ceremony. The home was beautifully decorated de-corated with spring flowers, and dainty refreshments were served. serv-ed. The bride received congratulations congratu-lations in a beautiful white dot- ted Swiss marquisette dress complimented com-plimented by a lovely orchid corsage. Following the reception the newlyweds left on a short honeymoon hon-eymoon trip touring southern Utah, Arizona and Nevada after which they returned to Salt Lake City where they are making mak-ing their" home. The bride graduated from Spanish Fork high school and seminary in 1948. She attended LDS Business College, Salt Lake City, and is now employed at an insurance company in Salt Lake. The groom is a graduate of Bingham' high school and is now attending the University of ! Utah where he is secretary of 1 the International Fraternity of Delta Sigma Pi, Sigma chapter, which is a professional commerce and business administration fraternity. fra-ternity. Paul Kenner, son of Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Kenner, left Wednesday Wednes-day for officers training school at Fort Ord, Calif. He will be there three months and if he passes, then will go to Ft. Ben-ning, Ben-ning, Ga. Ladies attending the Ameri- can Legion auxiliary convention at Tooele last Saturday night were Gladys Quinn, Ruth Jacques, Jac-ques, Mabel Jenson, Mabel Brim-hall Brim-hall and Willy Addy. The Legion was represented by David Lyon, Stan Jacques and O. R. Warner. A lovely banquet was enjoyed after the meetings. House guests several days this week of Mr. and Mrs. Jtaymond B. Carter was Mrs. Carter's sister, sis-ter, Mrs. Verda Nelson of Roosevelt. Roose-velt. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Davis and young son Donald of Midvale, Mr. and Mrs. Neldon Reid Bishop Bish-op and son Donald Reid of Orem, Virga Low of Cleveland and Mrs. Dorlesca Kenner of Salt Lake City were dinner guests Sunday, Mother's day, of Mr, and Mrs. Donald G. Keid. Mrs. Bailey Santi.stevan, Jr., and son Ricky, left Saturday morning by streamliner to return re-turn to their home at Ft. Collins, Colo., following a five days' visit here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph P. Scussel. Thirty six guests gathered at No. 1 Fire hall on Saturday, May 12th, to wish "happy birthday" to Donna James on her ninth birthday. The lovely party was given for her by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl T. James. A delicious luncheon was served after which the group attended the matinee. A lovely iMother's day dinner was held Saturday night at the home of 'Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Still-man. Still-man. Guests were Miss Connie Stillman and ,Mr. and Mrs. Hos-mer Hos-mer Peterson and sons, Danny and Russell. Robert Aldon (Alt) Carroll, 47, of Altonah, farmer and stockman, stock-man, died last Friday in a Salt Lake hospital at 1 p.m. of a stroke suffered the previous Saturday. He was a nephew of David L. Bills of Bingham. |
