| Show iab AND CORTEZ TO PLAY HERE SATURDAY the first football game of the year on the local field will take place saturday afternoon when the grand county high school team meets the cortez colo eleven the game start promptly at 2 p m the game originally was scheduled to be placed at cortez but yesterday arrangements were completed for bringing the cortez aggregation to moab for the encounter moab and cortez have met several times on the gridiron in the past and the colorado eleven has always provided the stiffest kind of competition this years contest will be no exception as cortez has most of last years regulars on the lineup and Is sure to have a strong outfit it Is hoped that a large crowd will witness the initial game of the year admission for adults will be 35 cents all preparations were made by the local high school last week for a game saturday with huntington but at the last minute the emery county team sent word that it would be unable to make the trip the cancelling of this game was a severe disappointment to the moab team coach glen merrill has been putting his charges through some strenuous practicing since the opening of school on sept 5 and he Is highly encouraged with the prospects foi the season saturdays game with cortez will be watched with interest by local tans who are anxious to learn how the local eleven sizes up this year |
