Show TAX VALUES FAIL OFF due largely to the fact that transient sheep are this year assessed in grand county at half their actual number instead of at their full number as was done in the past the total valuation of property in the county has registered a tremendous decrease this year however the tax situation is not so alarming as might appear on the surface in past years grand county collected a full years taxes on transient sheep and then was required to remit to other counties one halt the taxes this year and in the future as the result of a law passed by the last legislature grand county will collect the taxes on one half of the transient sheep within her borders but will retain all of the taxes collected thus the same net revenues will be derived bahe county law course ahe general depreciation in the valuation of livestock and practically all other classes of property as a result of the business depression has caused some of the decrease in valuations and grand county and its various governmental subdivisions will have to get along with less money than they have enjoyed in past years figures released by the utah tax commission show that the total assessed valuation of grand county for the year 1931 Is in 1930 the total was and in 1929 |
