Show MOAB ROAD PROJECT TO START BY DEC 15 OFFICIALS HOPE all preliminary matters leading to the early starting of work on the moab valley gravel and oil road project are being disposed of and it is the belief of county and state road officials that construction can commence by december 15 county commissioners H G green and A M robertson have been engaged the past week in securing rights of way for the new highway and this matter has virtually been disposed of agreements have been reached with property owners and no delays are anticipated K C wright assistant chief road engineer R A gilels district road engineer and J H young engineer of the U 8 bureau of roads were in moab yesterday to meet with the commissioners ners and thresh out some of the details involved in the project it was decided that the road to be constructed in this project shall be confined to the stretch from the colorado river bridge to the grimm blacksmith shop comer south of town A new route for the road will be followed most of the way and the road will be graveled and oiled the total cost will be about the road from the grimm shop south to the county line will be constructed in another project to be undertaken later the state and county officials state that the preliminary work on the moab project will be rushed so that construction can start by the middle of december local labor will be used on the job entirely it Is stated |
