Show pumping resumed last night well proved to be a good commercial producer second hole soon to be studded in the frank shafer no 1 well on cane creek dome is again flowing oil into the storage tanks after a weeks shutdown of operations while overhauling the pumping equipment last night the pump was again placed in operation and in nine hours from 3 this morning until noon barrels of fluid had been brought out SO barrels of which was clean oil this production is at the rate of 80 barrels of oil in 21 hours the pump however is not working at maximum efficiency the gas pressure still giving some trouble holding the valves open and preventing the lifting of a capacity flow additional equipment tor the pump hookup hook up has been ordered and within the course of a week or two the well should be producing around 1000 barrels of fluid per day about one fourth of which will be oil mechanical troubles will doubtless be encountered for a few weeks in the operation of the pump but these can be overcome in the meantime the well is making a nice commercial flow of oil and the storage facilities will soon be filled 0 o capacity the utah southern oil company has proved beyond all question of doubt that the no 1 well is a commercial producer in spite of the heavy flow of salt water coming in above the oil stratum and which cannot be shut out in this well the company Is making arrangements to commence operations on its second well A location will be spotted within the next ten days and the well will be studded in without delay the second well will be located somewhere on the north flank of cane creek dome the oil situation in the maib district has been given a decided stimulus as a result of the comeback come back of no 1 and the prospects for more development are brighter than they have been for many months |
