Show OPEN SEASON ON GROUSE mm HENS FIXED state fish and game commissioner D H madsen issued a proclamation thursday fixing the date for the open season on sage hens and grouse from august 28 to september 5 inclusive mourning doves may be shot between september 1 and september 5 both dates inclusive in all counties of the state at present there has been no open season announced on quail or pheasants in any county in the state mr madsen announced the proclamation issued thursday by the fish and biame department declares it unlawful to hunt or kill either sage hens or grouse on any state game preserve or in uintah emery carbon or iron counties the limit of birds shall not exceed in one day more than eight sage hens or eight grouse or both canties of sage hens and grouse any hunter found with more than a total of eight aage hens and grouse will he prosecuted though during the open season a hunter artay kill up to 12 of the sage hens and grouse species hunters may also legally kill during a single day up to fifteen mourning doves in addition to eight sage hens and grouse mr madsen issued a warning thursday that all licenses sold in the last several did not qualify the holder to hunt for game birds the 2 license taken out for fishing is for fishing exclusively and may not be transferred for a aaion fishing and hunting license he said the 3 combination fishing and hunting license qualifies the holders to hunt for game birds as well as to fish but those holding fishing license alone obtain the 2 license for hunting small game |
