Show CRASH FRIDAY INJURESSEVERAL Eight persons six of them members of the same family-were family-were injured Friday at 9:29 p.m. when the small passenger car in which they were riding en route to their home in Copperfield and a truck collided at 21st South and Redwood rd. Injured were: Larry Hatt, 10 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. George Hatt, back injury and possible skull fracture; frac-ture; Robert Jaterka, 8, possible skull fracture and head lacerations; lacera-tions; Mrs. Inez Jaterka, 32, fractured frac-tured hip and internal injuries; Luena Jaterka, 14, back injury and possible fractured right leg; Denny Jaterka, 10, fractured collar col-lar bone; Connie Jaterka, 4, lacerations lac-erations of face and arms. Glen Graham, 12, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rex Graham, head lacerations; lac-erations; Anthony Jaterka, 36, body bruises. Given first aid treatment at Salt Lake General hospital, all victims with exception of Mr. Jaterka, later were transferred to St. Mark's hospital. Although four were reported injured seriously, ser-iously, none were in critical condition. con-dition. According to traffic investigators, investiga-tors, Mr. and Mrs. Jaterka, their four children and two neighbor boys were on their way home after af-ter a picnic at Liberty park when the mishap occurred. Trayeling west on 21st South, Mr. Jaterka, driver of the passenger pas-senger car, attempted to make a left hand turn onto Redwood rd. when his car collided with the eastbound truck driven by Stanley Stan-ley C. Hansen, 20, Orem. Mr. Hansen was driving the last of a five-truck convoy transporting trans-porting sheep. He was issued a citation for failure to yield right of way. The Jaterka vehicle was demolished and the truck damaged dam-aged badly although Mr. Hansen escaped injury. |
