H Manderfield assistant general freight and passenger agent of the Salt Lake Route oute There are three veins of coal of ot an excellent quality that have been traced along their strike for a distance of feet teet Doolittle said These veins pitch at an angle of 55 5 degrees which will make it possible to mine them extensively at comparatively low costA cost A A crosscut tunnel has been driven within the last few days cutting the first vein at a a. depth of ot feet This disclosed three three feet or t 1 bf f t clear coal aside e from the stringers and hangers A contract has been let to cut the No 2 vein which has the same surface surface surface sur sur- face indications as the No 1 The he coal is a high grade lignite comparing comparin favorably with the tho Castle Gate and Rock Springs products Crude tests have been made which show that the product has fine possibilities for manufacture manufacture manufacture manu manu- facture of coke The men interested in the coal land are largely from Parowan Parowan Parowan Paro Paro- wan and Lund the majority being from Parowan Practically the whole town is Interested |
