W Shores chief of police of Salt Lake by Al At Dumire recently held on suspicion of knowing something about the killing of Daisy Collings but who was dismissed dismissed dismissed dis dis- dis- dis missed in a preliminary hearing heading before be be- fore Judge E E. A A. Rogers of the police court It is alleged in the suit filed by Dumire that on January 25 1916 Shores as chief of police of Salt SaIt Lake arrested plaintiff on a pretended charge of murder in the first degree threw him into the city jail and there held him for seven days without any complaint against the prisoner without with out taking him before any magistrate and at the same time denying him the right to communicate with or receive information from counsel counselor or anyone Charge is made in the suit that during dur duro Ing this alleged unlawful incarceration tion Dumire became infested with vermin in the unclean city jail which has caused him m mental distress and worry to his damage in the sum ol ci hence judgment is asked for this amount against C C.
