United States surveyor general having received received re reo notice of the establishment of ofa a dinosaur monument to preserve the relics of the prehistoric animals The notice follows Whereas in section 26 township 4 south range 23 east of the Salt Lake meridian Utah there is located beat beat- ed an extraordinary deposit of dinosaurian dinosaurian din din- and other gigantic reptilian remains of the period which winch is one of great scientific interest inter est and value and it appears that public interest would be by reserving these deposits as a national monument together with as much land as is needed for their protection this section is set aside under the act of June 8 1906 The land embraced was heretofore heretofore hereto hereto- fore withdrawn as coal and phosphate phate land but the creation of the monument will in the future prevent prevent prevent pre pre- vent their use for such purposes Warning is given all against excavating excavating excavating ing or injuring the fossil remains in any manner and settlement or location location lo lo- bo- bo cation on the reservation Is prohibited This warning will not affect college college college col col- lege and Institutional professors who may secure permits but is aimed at atthe atthe atthe the activities of curiosity seekers |
