Childs vice president and general manager of the Motor company distributors of the Stephens Salient Sallent six sis who with L. L Wadsworth of the Wadsworth Automotive Service company company of Brigham City drove a Stephens to Lo Logan an After driving from Salt Lake to Brigham Brig Brig- Brig I ham hain stated Mr Childs the the following day Mr Air Wadsworth and I started for Logan Logan Lo Lo- gan We were told In Brigham that we would have to be bo pulled out of snowdrifts snowdrifts snowdrifts snow snow- drifts and mud if Jr we started as several people had started for Logan but got only as far as Collins Collinston ton therefore we decided decided ed to take a camera and put the Stephens to a a. real test We were not long reaching reachIng reachIng reach- reach Ing Collinston but could see before reachIng reachIng reaching reach- reach Ing there that we had a real job ahead of ofus ofus ofus us If It we were to reach Logan There had b been en no cars over ovel the mountain for some time and we we had everything our own way ay as far as keepIng keeping keeping keep- keep Ing in the road is concerned as there was nothing but a a fence on either side of of the road to guide us and It didn't make much difference where you would drive the mud was was just lust as deep one place as another an an I other olber In several places the snow was drifted entirely across the road for a distance distance dis dis- tance of half haU a mile to a mile Also Also the frost was coming out of the ground and where there were no snowdrifts the mud was axle deep and the further ve we went the more difficult the progress From a point near near Beaver Dam to about five miles milt from Logan we we drove almost continually in low gear a distance I I should judge of about twenty miles At I this point the north road joins the main I road into Logan and evidently the coun- coun try had expected some sonic foolish person t to some day venture too far and had plat plata placed placeda a watering trough there However on one large six-cylinder six car had come down from the north and there was one one gran nd bucket brigade from the watering trough troug to their cars It looked like three steam en engines had just stopped for water Talk about making the water ater boil boll 1 In n a 3 Stephens It cant can't be done The tri trip was made madel jn in n about four ho hours rs from BrIgham Brigham Brigham Brig BrIg- ham to Logan and after driving ove over r rr twenty miles in low gear I turned the ca car r over over to Hanson and Taylor Talor who ar are automobile dealers in Logan and the they proceeded to pull all the hills in Logan o on a high gear demonstrating the car to a number of ot their friends The motor wa was a just In good shape to do some real dem dem- demonstrating demonstrating after this long pull In to low w gear |
