Show RUBINOFFS VIOLIN YERYVALUABLE When Rubinoff appears in Bingham Canyon in a program of popular concert music, he will play on one of the most precious prec-ious instruments in the world, the famed Romanoff-Stradivarius violin vi-olin insured for $100,000. The violin is famous for its silken, lusterous tone, its full range and almost unbelievable depth. Made in 1731 by the master mas-ter of all violin makers, this particular Strad eventually found its way into the hands of the Romanoffs, one time rulers of Russia, and still bears the be-jeweled be-jeweled crest of that family. During Dur-ing the revolution it was smuggled smug-gled out of Russia and eventually was purchased by Mr. Rubinoff. Sensitive to heat, humidity, altitude and the risks that beset any treasure of such value the Stradivarius is guarded and handled with deference and extreme ex-treme care at all times. The ancient an-cient instrument still retains the original varnish and is the acme of perfection in musical instruments. instru-ments. Included In Rubinoff's program are "Warsaw Concerto", Chopin's "Polonaise", the ever popular "Rhapsody in Blue" by Gershwin; Gersh-win; and the haunting melody of De Bussy's "Clair de Lune"; all these famous compositions will have their premier performance as violin solos arranged and played play-ed by the maestro. Rubinoff will appear at Bingham high school auditorium on Sunday, Sept. 26. Tickets are available at Utah Power & Light office, First Security Se-curity Bank, J. C. Penney Co., Bingham Canyon Hospital and Union Drug. All members of Bingham Lions club have tickets available for sale. |
