Show DIVORCE FARCE IN THIS CASE -(-M Husband and Wife Quarrel Because Former Had His Mustache Shaved 01Tt and Suit Follows. Warningr-To all Married Men Don't shave off your mustache against the wishes of your wife. If you do yon are apt to find yourself your-self a party to an action to a divorce suit, at least this Is the experience of' William J. Atkinson, whose wife is now suing for a divorce in the .District court. The. case was heard at length by Judge Morse yesterday afternoon and continued until next Friday. According Accord-ing to the testimony, Mrs. Atkinson went to visit h r parents in Nebraska some time ago. While she was away Mr. Atkinson had the hirsute adornment adorn-ment of his upper lip amputated, .after which he had his picture taken and sent a copy to his wife. ' Mrs. Atkinson objected to the sp-pearance sp-pearance of her husband minus the , mustache, . promptly entered a protest and informed her legal lord that she would sue htm for a divorce. In answer to the letter from his wife Atkinson informed ber that he would not live with her again if she objected to his personal appearance, and upon this her complaint of alleged cruelty and mental distress is based. Mr. Atkinson filed an answer to the complaint, in which he asked that the complaint be dismissed or that in the event that his wife was granted a divorce di-vorce he be awarded the custody of two minor children. A number of letters let-ters that had been written by both parties to the action were introduced as evidence during the trisl yetserriay afternoon. The case was continued for a week in order to permit the introduction introduc-tion of more testimony. |
