Show ROLAND HALL TEACHER DIES IN OLD ATHENS - 9 Xews hss been received of the death in Athens, Greece, of Miss Eva Woodwsrd Gray, a member of the faculty fac-ulty of Howland Hall. About a year ago Miss Gray secured leave of absence tor the. purpose of go-ingto go-ingto Greece to continue her studies. While in 8alt Lake Miss Gray made many friends. She was 29 years old. Her parents are residents of New York Citv. Miss Clsra I. Colbnrne, principal of Rowland Hall, received a letter from Miss Grsy Sondsy. At that time Miss Grsv wss spparently in perfect health. She wrote interestingly of her travels. She expected to spend May in England, to reach New York about Jane 1, and to arrive in this city early in September. Miss Gray received the degree of A.B. from Cornell and the degree of A. M. from Columbia, and expected to win a Ph. D. in Athens this year. She spoke both Greek and Latin. |
