Bv order of the national head ii Detroit De-troit of the Amalgamated Association of Street and Electric Railway Employees Em-ployees of America, the organization of which the local union of street railway rail-way men is a branch, C. O. Pratt, chairman of the international executive board, and who was active last year in effecting the organization of the Salt Lake union, wfcs detailed to this city. He will bring about, if possible, lasting peace between the men and the management of the Utah Light and Railway company. Pratt arrived last night and is stopping at the Kenyan. All morning a meeting was held in his room, at which H.T. B. Grey of this citv, international vice-president: J. H. Lamont, president of the local union; A. H. Burt, financial secretary and business agent, and J. D. McCarty of the executive board, were present. Nothing was given out, other than that plans were being formulated to bring about reconciliation, and that the situation situa-tion was under discussion. Later in the day. A. P. Nielson. J. Reeder. T. W.- Palmer, W. Cocking, John Jones and B. J. Haddock, members mem-bers of the executive board, joined with the others in arranging for a proper presentation of their rights to the management man-agement of the street railway company. com-pany. The same system of secrecy is used now as was enforced during the trouble last summer, when nothing was given out until the entire union had first given assent. VV. H. Bancroft, president of the company, is out or the city, and nothing noth-ing will be done on the part of the com- rany until his return.
