Show HRS. IIOOLEY IS DECLARED INSANE Woman Who Shot Her Has-band Has-band Is Said to Have Delusions, De-lusions, Allusions and a Belief in Revelations. The County Board of Insanity and Judge Armstrong yesterday adjudged Mrs. Elfrlda Eooley Insane and ordered her sent to the State mental hospital at Provo. It was declared that she was Insane at the time she shot her husband W. T. Hooley, Tuesday morning, at their home ln Waterloo. ' When the examination was taken up again the woman spoke with her usual coldness and calmly retold her story. Dr. Calder, superintendent of the State mental hospital, was called in to assist the commission in arriving at a conclusion.' After examining a number num-ber of witnesses in court, the commission, commis-sion, xomposed of Judge Armstrong, Dr. W. R. Calderwood and F. H. Baley, assisted by District Attorney F. C. Loofbourow and Dr. Calder, went into executive session with the patient and the members of the family. During the executive session Dr. Calder Cal-der put the woman through the usual tests for insanity, and found that she was unable to respond to all of them satisfactorily. After the examination he informed the court that Mrs. Hooley has delusions and alluvions, thinks she sees visions and receives revelations, and believes that there is something that she is trying to hide. The witnesses examined were Attorney Attor-ney Allen T. Sanford, who said that Mrs. Hooley declared to her hnsband that she had received a revelation not to live with him; Miss Mina Anderson, dauhter of Victor F. Anderson, a brother of Mrs. Hooley; Mrs. A. Pip, J. C. warfield and Dr. Lewis. |
