Show MARATHON RACE HAY HAVE 300 ENTRANTS Saturday. June 11. probably will be chossn as ths dsts for the modified ten-mile ten-mile marathon race open to all to be hoM under the auspices of the Commercial elub. It la believed, that the nineteen days before that date will give those who' wish to enter sufficient time to train. At a mealing of the field sports committee com-mittee of the Commercial club, to be held at 12:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon, definite defi-nite details will be arranged and a statement state-ment of the rules and conditions of the race will be made public. It la probable that tha race will be started from South Temple and Main streets, through the downtown streets to the south of ths city and thence to the Granite tabernacle taber-nacle and back to the Brtgham Young monument. A long Hat of prlsea furnished by the Commercial club and various organisations or-ganisations and business Institutions are expected to attract a large number of runners. It Is expected that at least 300 runners will atari. The runners probably will be permitted permit-ted to have pacers on bicycles and ths courae will be paper marked by a committee com-mittee which will precede the runners la an automobile. The winner will be crowned by the governor or ths quean of the marathon. If one la selected. The race la open to every one In the state and all entrants will be cared for by the Commercial club In one of the local gymnasiums |
