Show TWO BIG ROAD RACES EOR DECORATION DAY For the purpose of conducting both a motorrvele and a bicycle road race on Decoration day, Will Bruggere ha obtained the use of the new automobile speedway between tbe city aod the Saltair resort. Bruggere expoets to have fully l."0 motorcycles and equally that many bikes in each race. The new course has a straightaway of fourteen milea and an additional mile with a turn, and it is sixty feet wide, so thst it should afford an ideal course for just such road races, it is said to be as level as could be desired, although a coatiug of oil will be oeeee-sary oeeee-sary to pack it and eliminate the dust. Bruggere has already applied for sanctions from the X. 0. A and F. A. M. Amateurs only will hi permitted to enter in the race. The speedway is said to be close enough to the claltair railroad tracks to afford a view of the raeee from the trains. It is also said that a local corporation corpora-tion has begun work toward construct ing a two and one-half-mile circular automobile race track, after the plans of the famous Indianapolis speedway, for the purpose of conducting automobile automo-bile races of international importance near this city. The proposed site for the track is near the Saltair resort. The promoter are already in toueh with Barney Oldfield and other world famous auto drivers. |
