Mr. Cahoon attended the annual convention conven-tion of the Common Brick Association nf America and the National Brick Manufacturers' association held in New York January 29 to February 6. He was elected vice president and director of the former organisation. "Despite the fact that many of the brick plants through the country were not operating at the time of the convention con-vention because of the lack of business, busi-ness, practically every delegate at the conventions was opt i mm tic about the future." said Mr. Cahoon. "More than 500 persons from all parts of the United Unit-ed States attended the gathering. "Reports showed that many of the plants in various parts of the country were out of ope cation, but that Inquiries In-quiries had been arriving at the various vari-ous offices of the delegates referring to supplying brick for the spring construction con-struction work. It was the general opinion of the delegates that construction construc-tion work' in 1921 would compare favorably fa-vorably with that of years previous to the war. Prior to my departure from Rait Ijtke I arranged for a practical test of the air mail service. Two days f,fr my departure there were mailed to me at New York, two letters, one marked in a manner that It would travej by air post and the other by the usual method. The letter designated to travel by air post reached me about one hour after that which was left to travel the usual method." |
