Show L D, S, BUILDING i CHIEFSJONFER Scientific advancement of the L. D. S. church building and beau-tiflcatlon beau-tiflcatlon program was discussed at b convention of associated architects archi-tects of L. D. S. buildings in the M. I. A. boardroom, 90 North Main street, Thursday. The meeting was attended by 45 architects from Canada, California. Cali-fornia. Arizona, Washington and Utah and the presiding bishopric of the L. D. S. church. LeGrand Richards, presiding bishop, pointed out the church Is . spending from $600,000 to S800.000 annually In construction of meeting meet-ing house, chapels and seminaries and about J 200,000 for the maintenance main-tenance of existing buildings. He explained that, to administer these funds, a staff of three architects Is maintained In the presiding bishop's bish-op's office. Church architect Is Arthur Price, while George W. Ashton is In charge of maintenance. main-tenance. The staff also Includes even assistant. Other speakers were Mr. Ashton and A. B. Paulson. A luncheon was held at the Lion House Social center at 12:30 p. m. IrvinT. Nelson Nel-son discussed the landscaping ot church grounds. |
