Show Drive CAREFULLY -En Route to Football Game Drive carefully to the game, enjoy the contest and then drive home carefully. That waa the plea of peace officers Friday Fri-day as they prepared to handle the heavy traffic that is expected Saturday for the homecoming football game between Utah and Colorado at the Utah stadium at 2 p. m. Saturday. Sergeant Harvey C. Peirce, head of the police traffic division, said streets leading lead-ing to the stadium will be policed thoroughly. thor-oughly. For their own convenience, ha said, motorists should use the arterial streets South Temple, Second South, Fourth South, Ninth South and Thirteenth - East streets which afford the best routes. Entrance to the stadium parking lot will be closed at Fifth South street, but motorists may leave via Fifth South street after the game. Entrance will be opened on the Fourth South street side. A good route home from the gsme for msny motorists who need not travel west will be eastward on Fifth South street across the military reservation, be said. R. Whitney Groo, state highway patrol superintendent, said all available men will be on duty Saturday, with special attention atten-tion being paid to U. S. 91 north and south of the city, which will bear many travelers from Ogden, Provo and other cities. "It looks like the weather will be fine for the game," he warned, "but records show that accidents are most numerous in good weather. Let all motorists use the utmost care and courtesy on the highways and have a pleasant homecoming day without with-out any accidents." |
