Show Retains Post 'N " i. P. HAiXIWELL Pioneer Loop Leaders Approve Expansion to.EightjClubs POCATELLO, Sept. 30 Having Hav-ing reelected J. P. Halliwell of Pocatello as president of the class C circuit, directors of the Pioneer baseball league Saturday morning began consideration of applications applica-tions for the two added franchises. The directors represent Twin Falls, Lewiston, Pocatello and Boise. Idaho; Salt Lake City and Ogden, Utah, members of the loop in its Initial season this year. Applications Ap-plications for the new places were expected from Provo and Logan, Utah: Butte, Mont.; Nampa, Bur-ley Bur-ley and Idaho Falls, Idaho. George Lowe of Ogden was again chosen vice president of the league as the meeting opened Friday, Fri-day, but selection of directors was deferred. Halliwell was renamed Friday, when the league also voted him a $1200 yearly salary. He served without pay this year. Expansion of the league into an eight-team circuit for the 1940 campaign is virtually assured, officials offi-cials disclosed today following the board of directors' session.
