Show TWO RECOVER AFTERCRASHES Two persons were recovering Saturday Sat-urday after suffering minor hurts in Salt Lake City and county traffic traf-fic accidents. Tom R. Mellenthin. 2S, of Sandy, suffered bruises snd shock about 11 p. m. Friday when his car left the road In Big Cottonwood canyon can-yon and plunged down an eight-foot eight-foot embankment He told Salt Lake county deputy sheriffs he was blinded by tha lights of another machine. T!ie accident occurred as he was traveling down the canyon about a mile above the mouth. Mrs. Ei-ma Roberts, 32, of 542 West First North street, suffered a deep cut and possible fracture of the left forearm late Friday afternoon aft-ernoon when struck by a car In the 200 block on South Main street. Mrs. Roberts wss crossing the street In a pedestrian crosswalk when the automobile, driven by Leo R. Smith, 28. of San Diego, Cel., struck her. The driver told police he did not see the victim until too late to halt his machine. |
