Show VAN COTT LAUDS DEER CREEK AS 'UTAHBOULDER' Cites Faith of L. "The project will mesn to Salt Lake City almost exactly the same thing that Boulder dam means to Los Angeles, with this very Impor-"tantrdlfference Impor-"tantrdlfference Ixs" Angeles will pay millions of dollars in interest charges and Salt Lake City will not have to pay one penny of Interest," he said. "Los Angeles is spending millions becsuse Its citizens hsvs confidence la the future and know that they can add another million population If they get the water first," Mr. Vsn Cott explained. "Now Salt Lake City has a chancs to double her population by bringing bring-ing this great supply of water to her door at a cost of only 290.000 a year. We must now show confidence confi-dence in our city." He appealed to the members as civic leaders to Insure the future of ths city as they would insure their own homes by obtaining an ample water supply. In charge of the meeting was Harrison S. Brothers, a division chairman. A similar address was given by Fisher Harris, counsel for the metropolitan met-ropolitan water district, at a meeting meet-ing of the Better Government club Friday at 1863 Fourth East street. |
