Show TEXAN TO FACE KIDNAPCHARGE Accused of Bringing Daughters to S. L. Salt Lake City police Monday received re-ceived a warrant from authorities; in Hardin county. Texas, formally; charging W. E. Fortenberry. 80. of Kountze. Texas, with the kidnaping I of his two daughtera, Joyce, 11, and Rrvelle. 10. While the girls remained In the care of Mrs. Hazel Stewart, operator opera-tor of the New Lindsay hotel, 240 West South Temple street, where the three had lived before the father's arrest, Fortenberry remained re-mained in city jail awaiting Texas officers. Fortenberry has announced that he will fight extradition, although he reportedly admits that the children's chil-dren's mother, Mrs. Nina Davis, was granted legal custody at the time of the couple's divorce. The warrant states that Fortenberry Forten-berry allegedly enticed the girls to j leave with him on September 15. Fortenberry said following his arrest ar-rest that the children had been visiting vis-iting him for about a month, with their mother's consent, prior to the time he left Texas, and that the girl had come wlthh 1m willingly to Salt Lake City. |
