Gorman Bishop Hunt Pledges Life Of Serving God, Church Diocese Head Humbly Cites Limitations in Admonishing Faith, Courage Addressing priests and laymen of his church for the first time as bishop of the Catholic diocese of Salt Lake, the Most Rev. Duane G. Hunt, D. In opening his sermon. Bishop Hunt quoted his motto: "Per Eccle-siam Eccle-siam ad Deum" "Through the Church to God." "In his motto." he told his listeners, listen-ers, "Is proclaimed man's final end. being with God: there is proclaimed also, the means by which he is to attain that end. "Through Christ to God means. and at all time since His ascension into heaven has meant, through the Church to God. No greater bleaaing can come to any man. he can have no greater cause for eternal gratitude, grati-tude, than the gift of faith by which this simple and logical truth is accepted." ac-cepted."
