Show PRESTON GETS SCHQOLSURVEY PRESTON, Idaho Under direction direc-tion of Dean John R. Nichols of University of Idaho, South, at Po-cateito. Po-cateito. an occupational survey for the Praaton school district has been launched. Dean Nichols undertook the survey sur-vey at the request of R. F. Campbell, Camp-bell, superintendent of the schools. Assisting- Dean Nichols are Blue- beth B. Crandall, dean of women; John C. Snidecore, English and speech instructor; Dr, Walter C. Shipley, assistant professor of psychology, psy-chology, and Loretta Byera, director direc-tor of practice teaching. Using material gained through the survey, Preston school officials intend to revise the school curriculum curricu-lum to meet occupational needs in i the county. Dr. Nichols advised the group to plan the survey over a three-year period. The first year should be devoted to determining the Infor-. Infor-. mation desired and how to gather it. The second year should be spent la actual collecting of the information. informa-tion. In addition to statistics on wages, housing, health and occupations occu-pations in the county, a check should be made of school graduates to see If they benefited by their high school courses. Evaluating the results and decfd- lhg upon curriculum changcf would be the third year's work. |
